Hague Convention in force in Hungary
The Hague Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters (“Convention”) entered into force on 1 September 2023 in Hungary. As the recognition and enforcement of judgments between EU Member States is governed by the Brussels Ia Regulation, the Convention is relevant for Hungary in regards to those countries that are not EU Member States and with which Hungary does not have a bilateral agreement on the mutual recognition and enforcement of judgments.
Changes in Hungarian pharmaceutical industry
As of 1 August 2023, the National Public Health Centre and the National Institute of Pharmacy and Nutrition merged to establish a new authority, the National Centre for Public Health and Pharmacy (“Centre”). The Centre is responsible for various matters such as public health, epidemiology, health promotion, healthcare administration and coordination, occupational health, drug policy, and activities in the field of pharmacy. As the two organizations frequently collaborated on regulatory procedures, we anticipate an improvement in efficiency and a quicker approval process for specialized healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
