Wielkopolskie voivodeship remains the region with the lowest unemployment rate (3.2%).
The highest level of wages in industry was recorded in śląskie voivodeship (PLN 6,727).
Mazowieckie voivodship is the region with the highest level of remuneration in construction (PLN 7,744).
The highest rate of industrial production growth in annual terms can be seen in Mazowieckie voivodship (by 28.4%). In turn, Świętokrzyskie recorded the highest increase in sales in construction (by 92.6%).
Unemployment
In February, the number of registered unemployed was 921.8 K people and was by 5.3 K people lower than at the end of January and 177.7 K people lower than last year.
The unemployment rate, at 5.5% at the end of February, was the same as in January. At the same time, it turned out to be by 1.1 percentage points lower than a year ago, which is a better result than in January when the unemployment rate was lower than a year ago by 1.0 percentage point. The reduction in the number of registered unemployed in February and the accompanying maintenance of the unemployment rate at the level recorded in January should be treated as an “asseasonal”, positive surprise.
The highest registered unemployment was recorded in February in warmińsko-mazurskie voivodship (9.0%) and the lowest in wielkopolskie (3.2%).
Wages in industry and construction
In the period from January to February 2022, the average salary for the entire country was PLN 6,090 in industry and PLN 5,947 in construction. Compared to last year's results, wages in industry increased by 9.5% and in construction by 12.6%. The highest average wage in industry in January-February this year was recorded in śląskie voivodeship - PLN 6 727. Salaries above 6,000 on average PLN was also received by employees in the following voivodeships: mazowieckie (PLN 6,720), dolnośląskie (PLN 6,699) and pomorskie (PLN 6,183). The lowest wages were received by employees in podkarpackie voivodeship (5,238 PLN).
In construction, the highest level of average wages and salaries was observed in mazowieckie voivodship (PLN 7,744 on average). In turn, świętokrzyskie voivodeship was the region with the lowest level of wages (PLN 4,544).
Industry - production and efficiency
In the period of January-February 2022, sold industrial production increased by 17.4% y/y. All regions recorded an increase - the largest in voivodships: mazowieckie (by 28.4%), podkarpackie (by 25.3%), zachodniopomorskie (by 23.4%) and podlaskie (by 20.9%). Dolnośląskie and wielkopolskie voivodships turned out to be the regions with the lowest growth rate - by 7.2% and 7.6%, respectively.
Productivity in industry in the first two months of this year on average increased by 15.9% in the scale of the entire country. Productivity increased in all provinces. Most - by 27.0% in mazowieckie voivodship, and the least - by 5.7% in dolnośląskie.
Construction - production and efficiency
The sold production in construction in the period of January-February 2022 increased nationwide by 31.1% y/y. Apart from the warmińsko-mazurskie voivodship, where sales decreased by 13.0%, all voivodeships recorded positive results on an annual basis. The highest growth was recorded in the following voivodships: świętokrzyskie (increase by 92.6%), lubuskie (by 85.2%), wielkopolskie (by 54.8%) and pomorskie (by 52.7%). Productivity in construction increased on average by 30.4% y / y. The highest increases were recorded in świętokrzyskie and lubuskie voivodships (93.0% and 80.3% respectively). Productivity decreased compared to the same period in 2021 in one voivodeship - warmińsko-mazurskie (by 10.7%).
Housing market
In the period of January-February 2022, 33,735 apartments were commissioned - 0.1% less than in the corresponding period of 2021. The highest increase was recorded in zachodniopomorskie voivodship (by 36.8%) and the highest decrease in lubelskie voivodship - by 25.3%.
